The pipeline
What's being built
Every data center application filed with Loudoun County — rezonings, special exceptions and site plans — taken straight from the county's own case list, plus every change to its record of what is built and what is proposed. New filings can land in your feed reader or on your calendar the day this page learns of them, and the story page plays the whole twenty-year record back.
Filed with the county
A case here means somebody has asked the county for permission to build, expand or rezone. Each links to the county's own file so you can read the filing rather than take our word for it.
Changes to the county record
What has moved in the county's built and proposed parcel layers since this site began watching them — a campus appearing, a status changing, a square footage revised, a proposal dropping out.
Where this comes from
Applications come from Loudoun County's land development case list
(LOLA), matched on cases whose name or description mentions a data
center. The county does not tag them as such, so the match is deliberately broad:
a filing you can see and dismiss is better than one silently missed. Routine
post-approval paperwork — bonds and corrections — is set aside so it does not bury
the filings that decide anything, and the number set aside is shown above.
Built and proposed parcels come from the county's
Existing_Data_Center_Parcel and Pipeline_Data_Center_Areas
layers, the same ones behind the map.
Nothing here is an opinion about whether a project should go ahead. It is the public record of what has been asked for, presented in one place with dates attached. Spotted something wrong? Tell us.
