So how many data centers is that?

It depends what you count. The records above are tax parcels. On the county's own layers those parcels group into 67 named projects — campuses like Beaumeade, which alone spans 19 parcels. The county's building-outline layer shows 182 standing data center buildings and 89 more planned, digitized from August 2024 aerial imagery. And a county supervisor's 2026 white paper puts it at approximately 250 data centers built — a facility-level estimate that sits between campuses and buildings. All of these are true at once: a campus spans several parcels, and one parcel can hold several buildings.
